I Am Athlete Podcast at City Winery Philadelphia

During the recent Summer Leadership Development & College Tour Trip with Friday Is Tie Day I realized there was a large number of kids that love sports and hope to play professionally. Unfortunately, all of them are not going to have the opportunity to play professional, but as part of my continued efforts with Friday Is Tie Day and The Rich Quick Workshop I wanted to try to show the kids all of the careers that available to them in sports and other industries. Just because everyone may not have the opportunity to play sports professionally that does not mean they cannot still have a career that involves working in sports or an adjacent industry. After, recently joining the Advisory Board for the Center for Black Culture at my alma mater, Drexel University, I felt events like the live taping of the I Am Athlete Podcast perfectly aligned with that goal. Coincidentally, one of the former students who went through the program at Friday Is Tie Day, Imaad Andrews, who is now a mentor is a big fan of the I Am Athlete Podcast as well. A podcast focused around black former players talking about their journey and experiences seemed like the perfect opportunity to also have one of the best young, black directors/videographers from Philly, K Davis, attend as well. Especially, since I knew there would be some former Eagles’ players at the event. Above is the recap of the event by K Davis and you can also click here to see some more of our recent work together. Below you can see a picture of Imaad with former NFL player and I Am Athlete co-host, Brandon Marshall. Click here to see some more pictures from the event by Imaad too.
